Verification standard
Every distributor in the directory must pass three tests before publication and is periodically re-checked:
- Independent ownership — not owned or controlled by a medical device manufacturer
- Multi-brand third-party portfolio — distributes products from multiple manufacturers
- Named distribution role — active commercial role in the target country

Sources we use
For each entry, the following sources are consulted in roughly this order:
- National trade association membership rosters (BVMed, ABHI, SNITEM, Confindustria Dispositivi Medici, FENIN, Nefemed, beMedTech, FASMED, POLMED, IMDA, APORMED, POMV, Medicoindustrien, Medtek Norge, Sailab)
- OEM dealer-locator pages (DMG, Kerr, LM Dental, Directa, Parkell, NSK, B. Braun, Karl Storz, Aesculap)
- Procurement framework registries (NHS Supply Chain, CONSIP, SKL Kommentus, Sykehusinnkjøp HF, Amgros, Hansel, UGAP, RESAH, BBG, BeschA)
- Public regulator records (BfArM, MHRA, AEMPS, ANSM, Swissmedic, Lægemiddelstyrelsen, Läkemedelsverket, DMP, Fimea, INFARMED, HPRA, URPL, IGJ, FAMHP, BASG)
- Direct site inspection (about pages, leadership pages, news/press releases, recent M&A announcements)
- Operator network — direct knowledge from Miguel's 9 years in European MedTech distribution
What we will not include
- Manufacturer subsidiaries. Stryker France, Roche España, Drägerwerk, Henry Schein's own private-label products — excluded as competitors to a non-EU manufacturer, not as partners.
- Generic B2B trading companies that do not have a verified medical device commercial role.
- Import-of-record agents that handle customs paperwork only.
- Personal email addresses or private contact details. Only contact information that already appears on a distributor's public website.
- Pay-to-play listings. Zero exceptions.
How updates are processed
Submissions and corrections come through the List Your Company form:
- New listings: verified within 5–10 working days. Decline notes are sent for submissions that don't pass the 3-test standard.
- Corrections to existing listings: processed within 48 hours when received via the same form.
- Removal requests: processed within 5 working days. Distributors can request removal at any time.
- Material market events (M&A, exits, new entrants, scope changes): proactively researched and pushed within 2 weeks of source verification.
Conflict-of-interest disclosure
Miguel Baptista (editor) is also a Country Manager for EMS Dental & Medical (Portuguese affiliate of a Swiss medical device manufacturer).
EMS does not appear in the directory because EMS is a manufacturer, not a distributor — this exclusion is driven by the 3-test verification standard, not a special carve-out. Miguel also operates
Fractio, the consulting practice that this directory supports commercially. Distributors that engage Fractio as clients do not receive different treatment in the directory or in the Matcher tool.
Corrections
If a listing contains an error or is out of date, please submit a correction through the List Your Company form. Use the same form for new submissions. We will respond within 48 hours.
Data privacy
The directory does not list personal email addresses, mobile numbers, or anything that wouldn't appear on a distributor's public-facing website. Submission data is processed through HubSpot (EU-hosted) and stored only as long as required to respond to enquiries. We do not sell, rent, or share submission data with third parties.
Editorial independence
No distributor can pay to be ranked higher, featured, or excluded from competitor mentions. The Matcher tool's scoring is deterministic and transparent — the algorithm is published on the tool page itself in the form of the input questions and scoring weights. Fractio engagements do not influence directory ranking.
